I've, personally, put an effort to get back with my ex because i love him. if you feel like there could be something more there, get off your ass and go get them back!
Honestly, I was so sick of his shit that I was over the relationship before we broke up. If you're still in love with your ex, that is valid and normal but it's not worth it with some prople.
